Playfully named IKE, these kiosks offer a digital, touch screen directory on one side that lists nearby amenities, walking directions and answers frequently asked questions. The other side features a rotating digital advertisement that changes on a monthly basis, offsetting the cost of the kiosks. These kiosks can be found intermittently along the street, providing wayfinding and demarcating stops for the free MallRide. Adding to the vibrant streetscape of this famous pedestrian mall, the kiosks glow at night with undulating colors, creating helpful beacons for passersby. The design for the kiosks is informed by the city’s skyline and ArtHouse’s work for 14th Street and the clean lines and sleek materials contrast nicely with the historic façades of nearby buildings.
