Located in Olde Town Arvada, a charming and historic community northwest of Denver, the Olde Town Hub transit center allows commuters to travel via bike, light rail or bus to and from downtown Denver and other adjacent municipalities. With the newly opened G-Line light rail, the City of Arvada challenged ArtHouse Design to help imagine the Olde Town Hub as more than a parking structure or transit point. ArtHouse worked closely with team members from the City, RTD and the project architect to bring the station to life through large-scale, colorful graphics, iconic elements like a clocktower and modern wayfinding signage.

Due to the Olde Town Hub’s proximity to Downtown Arvada and historic sites in the area, the City planned for the roof of the building to act as an event space that could be converted to or from parking as needed. Accordingly, ArtHouse included neon illumination elements to help transition the project from day to night and to create buzz and excitement during events held on the roof of the structure. All of the new signage elements also tie in with RTD standard signage elements for a cohesive, unified palette that still feels active and unique.
