ArtHouse at the 2016 ISA Sign Expo

ArtHouse Design had the opportunity to send two team members to the International Sign Association’s 2016 Expo in Orlando, Florida as part of the Hosted Buyers Delegation for the second year in a row. This convention is one of the biggest in the sign industry. According to the International Sign Association, “The International Sign Association (ISA) is a 2,300-member trade association, the members of which are manufacturers, users and suppliers of on-premise signs and other visual communications products from the 50 United States and 54 countries around the world. ISA supports, promotes and improves the visual communications industry, which sustains the nation’s retail, distribution, service and manufacturing industries.” Beth and Evan had a great time learning about new products and fabrication techniques, as well as networking with the other designers. Some of the highlights of the expo included learning about a software called Spike that allows users to survey built environments in the field with a mobile device – something that is all too useful in the field of Experiential/Environmental Graphic Design. One of the more unique features of this year's expo was a tour of Amway Stadium, home of the Orlando Magic. Beth noted that it was really interesting to hear firsthand about the thought that went into designing the stadium and was particularly inspired by a unique installation that functioned both as a sign and as seating for the VIP area. Beth and Evan also enjoyed bonding with their fellow Team 4 hosted buyers and participating in EGD oriented challenges throughout the expo.   arthouse-design-blog-isa-sign-expo-2016-orlando-4 arthouse-design-blog-isa-sign-expo-2016-orlando-5 arthouse-design-blog-isa-sign-expo-2016-orlando-3 arthouse-design-blog-isa-sign-expo-2016-orlando-2
