The York on City Park represents ArtHouse Design’s seventh completed project in collaboration with Shea Properties, a premier developer of apartment and office projects in Denver and the surrounding metro area. This unique project occupies half of a full city block in Denver’s City Park West neighborhood and directly faces City Park and Denver East High School. With architectural features that pay homage to the adjacent Smith Mansion and East High School, this project features elegant sophistication and high-end amenities such as a glass-enclosed conservatory, Zen garden, pool and other inviting gathering areas overlooking the park.

Shea approached ArtHouse to design a logo and visual identity that evokes both the natural tie-ins to the park and the changing of the seasons to help identify this impressive property. By using layers of stained glass inspired colors in both warm and cool hues, ArtHouse was able to create an identity that feels floral, warm and upscale. This was then translated into various simplified versions that manifest themselves in brushed aluminum signage, wood engravings on the sides of desks and in colorful accents on the windows. Due to the understated elegance of The York, ArtHouse strove to design a comprehensive package of signage and wayfinding elements that echo this feel and translate the subtle style of the project.

With etched glass unit entry signage and wayfinding elements, the signage is able to shift and take on the visuals of its surroundings, allowing paint colors and wall finishes to show through, while maintaining a cohesive identity with the logo and brand.
