ArtHouse Design created a custom brand identity and environmental graphics for Art Studios—an adaptive reuse project in the Golden Triangle neighborhood of Denver, Colorado. Before being converted into studio apartments, the building was most recently home to the Art Institute of Colorado, and was originally built for an Insurance Company in 1962.
The logo letters were crafted using simple geometric forms, emphasizing functionality and simplicity—the characteristics of the building’s Modernist, International Style of architecture. The minimalist letterforms are paired with bold colors in various signage installations throughout the building, infusing a new energy into the historic project.
Three-dimensional, sculptural letters are integrated into the streetscape to identify the building using scale to create visual impact along a busy downtown street. A bold gradient of architectural fins highlight the sculptural letters while leading visitors toward the building entrance. Oversized, bold letterforms accent the ground floor storefront glass creating an inviting and whimsical atmosphere in the lounge.
The interior lobby space features the letters in the bright, eye-catching glow of exposed neon tubing and dimensional letters framed by a painted mural and mixed media art.
