ArtHouse & Anderson Mason Dale Team up with School of Mines

Colorado School of Mines recently celebrated the grand opening of Marquez Hall on their campus in Golden, CO. The building was made possible by more than $27 million in philanthropic donations from Mines' alumni and others. The cutting-edge building is the new home to the Mines' Department of Petroleum Engineering.

ArtHouse was hired to design donor recognition as well as informational displays to educate campus visitors.

Part sculpture, part enrichment, Marquez Hall was transformed by a floor-to-ceiling topographic map. Creating a reproduction of the topo map has been a first semester assignment for the petroleum engineering students for decades and was a natural - and visually striking - way to address the different levels of giving.

Balancing this, six unique illuminated displays highlight the main ways petroleum engineering effects our daily lives through its history, its global and economic impact and the products we buy.
