Trout’s Drygoods and Flyfishing sought out ArtHouse Design to help design a beautiful direct-mail campaign that evoked both the quality craftsmanship and no-nonsense personality that defined this high-end, men’s sporting goods store. Using a combination of contemporary, straightforward typography and beautiful vintage illustrations of various fish and sailing vessels, ArtHouse was able to achieve an elegant balance between local quality and honest craftsmanship. Adding a touch of humor to the marketing postcards and print collateral helped to create a level of charm and accessibility that mimics the friendly, passionate customer service that Trout’s offers. The use of witty copy and comical images in this marketing campaign allowed for customers and anglers of all ability and experience level to continue to feel welcome and intrigued by what this local, quality-oriented boutique has to offer.
