Larimer Square, Denver’s oldest retail destination, is a constantly evolving block of shopping and dining in Denver’s historic LoDo neighborhood in the heart of the city. Due to its history and importance as a tourism and entertainment hub, elements of the streetscape are regularly being redeveloped to help maintain the charm and broad appeal of Larimer Square. The Walkway, an underground passageway in the middle of the block, was one such development, having been recently transformed into a welcoming row of boutiques and restaurants. ArtHouse Design created an appealing entryway to attract even more visitors that included lightpost directories, illuminated shadow boxes and window graphics to cultivate a cohesive identity for this new destination. The use of bright yellow attracts passersby’s attention, but is also thoughtfully incorporated into the historic architecture of the building, so as to enhance the character of Denver’s original main street.
